This information is for those on the western side of the U.S. I got this out of The Economic Development Journal. www.edjmc.com Arizona State Parks has granted a rfequest by the Freedom Bridge Foundation of Lake Havasu City to host the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall and other exhibits at Windsor Beach Site 4, March 26-29, 2009. The wall stands 8.5 ft and is an 80% size replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in D.C. THE EVENT IS FREE AND IS OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY!! Other exhibits will include The Cost of Freedom Memorial, a 9-11 Memorial with lighted twin towers, the Walk of Heroes, a "Vietnam Remembered" art display, a World War II exhibit and more.
Now I do not work for any of the parks or companies putting this on, but I have seen the Traveling Wall before. It is breath taking. Most of us have a family member, friend, or at least know of some one who has or is in the military. Weather you believe in war or peace is not what im discussing, It's the overwhelming feeling of gratitude, love and grieve you get when you stand there and look down the wall. So if you are to far from D.C. and have a chance to see this work of art, take it. And Take it All in. It truelly is sureal.
And to some, and may help with some more personal issues for those of you who were there.
If you love your freedom, Thank a Vet!!! Thank you
p.s. another site you might enjoy or might come in handy www.vvmf.org Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund -has names and info of falling soldiers ( those are v's in the web add.)
