First let me state that this is a true story involving my higher power, prayer, and my caseworker regarding the children and families involvement regarding my actions using:
Yesterday, my case worker called to let me know she was going to "pop" in for her weekly visit to check on me and the children. It had been a week and a half of sick kids, trying to get ready for exams while also trying to find time and energy to attend meetings. Not to mention I had not gotten around to doing much housework this week. So after I got off the phone I had a converstation with my HP something to the effect of helping me remain humble AND patient (this woman normally visits for 2 hours). So she gets here close to 7pm, which honestly pisses me off. My children's bedtime is 7:30, and I just knew there would be no way they would be going to bed on time! . So we sit and start talking about the week, I am giving her all the paperwork from the doctor's and going over upcoming appt's for the girls and myself blah blah. I hear like a sound coming behind me but disregarded it as I was sitting in front of the fish tank and the Oscar fish likes to throw the gravel in the tank when someone sits in front of it. About two minutes later all of a sudden there is this squirrel on the caseworkers head!!! No seriously there was. Of course we both jumped up in surprise, her to get away even though as she jumped up the squirrel jumped off desperatly trying to get out the window. I am grabbing the kids trying to get them out of the living room and into their room, the caseworker is trying to grab me and put me inbetween her and the squirrel!! The kids are all like "cool a squirrel in the house" To say that it was madness is an understatement. So my husband is trying to figure out where the squirrel went, the dog is in her kennel going nuts, and the caseworker is like WAIT!!! just sign my paper and let me out before you get the squirrel!!!!! She leaves after only a short little visit thanks to a squirrel somehow coming down our chimney and magically landing on her head!!!! BTW it too my dog and hour to find the damn thing so my hubby could chase it outside with a broom!!!! |
