THE GRAPEVINE IS OUR MIRROR

I more than ever realize The Grapevine's value to AA-- past, present and future. It is a chief means of communication amongst us.

It is a mirror in which we view current progress and experience. It is a text to some, and is more and more used at closed meetings. Enlivened by its art, it is both humorous and inspirational. It is a source of news, and sometimes a forum for debate. It pictures General Service Conference and GSO activities, thus increasing interest in AA's world services.

So the Grapevine is not a luxury, To A A as a whole it is a necessity.

Another great find in my lil box of AA goodies. I did not know the value that Bill W. put on the A A Grapevine, but I find these to be a great read, specially the ones from the 60's.....I find it reassuring to know that the beginning literature was the way that they communicated! I can't imagine what it must have been like back when the program first began. Having a secret society. Sometimes I sit  and ponder what it must have been like. Today I am thankful for ALL the A A literature that is available to us, yet the older stuff is da shiznit, imo....

To a desolate person an act of kindness can be the difference between getting bitter and getting better..............
