Chris participated on A&E's Intervention in late October. He was an alcoholic for 8 years and struggled with his addiction for many years. He became very ill and as a result of his drinking he developed seizures, tremors and many other serious health problems. On October 28th, 2008, the long battle was finally over. His partner Shawn, along with family and friends finally put their differences aside and did an intervention with the help of Ken Seeley and the producers of A&E's Intervention. It was the hardest thing anyone could ever imagine, but Chris agreed to finally get help and to put his addiction behind him. He was sent to Malibu Horizons, in Malibu, CA where he was in treatment for 90 days. He did very well and learned how to maintain his recovery. He also faced personal issues and faced his past. He participated in various activities such as horseback riding, music therapy, art therapy and personal and group therapies. Chris and Shawn have been together for 14 years. They are extremely happy that the team from A&E's Intervention came into their lives. They now have the chance to live their lives peaceful and happy. The odds are in their favor...Its their time now! They are resuming plans of a commitment ceromony later this year...stay tuned! Chris and Shawn would like to meet everyone...Especially those who have been touched by addiction. They would also like to reach out to other people who have been struggeling with their sexuality, coming out or who are having problems with their families accepting them for who they are...not what they have become. Chris and Shawn hope that their intervention episode will show everyone that its ok to be gay regardless of what people think or say. Break down the barriers and fight.
